                          Tournament Rules & Format

 

The tournament shall consist of pool play format.  After pool play 2, 3, or 4 teams will return for a single elimination portion of the tournament or a championship game.

There will be a time limit on all pool play games.  No new inning shall start after this limit. There is no time limit during any single elimination portion of the tournament.

ALL GAMES WILL BE COMPLETED IN THE CASE OF A TIE. EVEN IF TIME EXPIRES WE WILL FINISH WITH A WINNER.

Courtesy runners are for pitchers and catchers only.  Courtesy runners must be someone not in the line-up.  If no one is available then courtesy runner must be the last recorded out for said team.

There will be no infield practice before games.

THERE WILL BE NO PEPPER ON TURF FIELDS.

DO NOT HIT INTO FENCES PLEASE.

Tournament format may be modified by tournament director in case of inclement weather.

Deciding factors in pool play or inclement weather shall be Head to Head, Runs Allowed, Run
Differential and coin flip.

Teams 9-12 may roster bat
Teams 13-14 may EH or DH
15-18 can DH only

Pitching Rules:
( 9, 10, 11, 12) year old divisions. No pitcher shall pitch more than 4 innings in a game if he is to pitch in the next game. If a pitcher throws in 2 consecutive games he must rest 1 game before he is able to pitch again. Meaning no pitcher may pitch in 3 consecutive games. (Violation of this rule will result in forfeit of the game in question.)
NO PITCHER MAY THROW MORE THAN 8 INNINGS IN 2 CONSECUTIVE GAMES.

(13, 14)  Year old divisions are the same as 9-12 divisions, except for a pitcher may throw no more than 5 innings is he is to pitch in the next game.

When a pitcher throws over game maximums  listed above, he may not pitch in the following game.

(15, 16, 17, 18) year old have open pitching.

Additional Clarifications:

Innings are recorded is 3rds. One out is equal to 1/3 of an inning.

In order to intentionally walk a batter the pitcher must pitch out.

No malicious contact during game in going to the base or otherwise.

If a player or coach is ejected from a game he may not return to the next game. Second ejection during any tournament will result in a 2 games suspension; third violation is ejection from the tournament.

If a game is stopped for weather or other reasons it will be play from it stopping point.

To appeal for leaving early or missing a base, pitcher must step off and throw to base, no verbal appeal.

Home team is determined by coin flip during pool play. Higher seed is home team during elimination portion of tournament. Home team will keep the official score book and visitors will operate the scoreboard.

Substitute: Can be brought in one time.

Bat Restrictions:
15’s and up nothing lighter than minus 3
14’s and up nothing lighter than minus 5
13’s and under no restriction.

Intentional Walk:
Pitcher must throw to batter to walk them intentionally. If catcher leaves box from behind the plate before pitch is released this will create a catchers balk.

Balk:
A Balk is a delayed dead ball. If the pitcher throws to the plate after a balk and the ball is hit in play, and each runner including the batter reach at least one base safely, the balk is nullified and the play stands.

Mercy Rules:
6 inning game- 15 runs after 3 or 8 runs after 4
7 inning game- 15 runs after 3 or 12 runs after 4 or 8 runs after 5
